AFL Grand Final fever hit the club with the now revamped Grand Final Eve Handicap Doubles. 8 Teams split into two pools played off and jostled to get the Final 8 where the AFL Finals System was used for the knockout rounds, with a wear your favourite teams colours theme throughout the day.

On Wednesday 24 September 40 members heard from Kate Leeming about her extraordinary 149-day cycling odyssey through Central Asia between March and September this year. Kate's journey took her and her team through six countries - all the 'Stans', including Afghanistan. She cycled 9,000 kilometres (9,001 actually) and - along the way - passed 100,000 kilometres on her many and varied long-distance cycling journeys on all the world's continents over the last 30 years.

Thank you to the team for making the trip up to Sydney, combing the Jesters match on Friday 20 September and the Barry Toates Trophy on Saturday 20 September 2025.
After a convincing 5-2 victory by Sydney over the Jesters Club, a refreshed RMTC team comprising Prue and Rob McCahey, John Oswald-Jacobs, Roger Wood, Jonathan Hamer, Katie and Jonathan Buckley leapt out of the blocks to have a 6-1 lead by lunchtime on Saturday. This included two tight victories by spousal combinations, and overcoming a man down from friendly fire.

There were a number of close games across the weekend of tennis with the top amateur players in the country competing for the Victorian Amateur Singles and Doubles. It culminated with two exceptionally high standard finals with Kieran Booth defeating Ollie Pridmore in the singles to take revenge from the opposite result in Sydney.

12 pairs of players turned out in their full regalia celebrating their country of affinity for the 2025 Internationality Handicap Doubles. We had teams celebrating countries all around the world from the local jackaroos to as far away as Scotland and Scandinavia.

We had a strong turnout for the third Young Members tournament for 2025. Despite some of the more experienced young players joining in the fun it was the juniors who made the most of their chances. Tom McNamara recovered from a challenging start to make the final but Saffron Scheele was the ultimate winner, coming back from 3/0 down to win the last 6 games of the tournament.
