The RMTC Foundation - supporting our Club’s future

The RMTC Foundation was established to provide Members and their families with an ongoing platform for making gifts and bequests to The Royal Melbourne Tennis Club.

The primary purpose of The RMTC Foundation is to build a capital fund and to use the income to encourage the growth and development of tennis at RMTC and to support enhancements to our Club.

Donors can indicate what they would like their funds to support. The RMTC Foundation functions under the auspices of an appointed group of five Governors to manage the Foundation’s assets and oversee its programs.

How can you support us?

The RMTC Foundation has three channels for receiving gifts and bequests:

  • A gift directly to the Club for placement in The RMTC Foundation Fund or
  • A tax-deductible gift via a fund registered with the Australian Sports Foundation (ASF) called RMTC Foundation.
  • Remembering the RMTC Foundation in your Will (see Bequest details and suggested Proforma)

Please talk to any of the RMTC Foundation Governors below if you would like to support our Club’s future in any way.

The RMTC Youth Tennis Scholarship Program - Our first investment is in developing young tennis players

This Scholarship is designed to attract and develop young tennis players by offering them an elite Real Tennis Scholarship. The Scholarship will offer the successful applicant(s) a personalised training plan created by our Pros, which can include support for court time, lessons, membership fees, apparel, travel to tournaments, and equipment. Candidates must be aged between 16 and 25 years of age at the time of lodging the application.

The Youth Tennis Scholarship Program’s goal is to build a stream of quality young real tennis players, of which our Members can be proud, and who will be the standard-bearers for RMTC’s next generation of top players.

Selection of our successful applicants will be made by a Panel comprising representatives of the RMTC Foundation, the RMTC Tennis Committee and our Club professionals.

For the 2026 Scholarship, selection of our successful applicant(s) will be made by a Panel comprising representatives of the RMTC Foundation and the RMTC Committee, along with our Club professionals. The selection process will include both on court assessment and off court interviews. Applications must be received on the attached application form by 30 December 2025, from existing RMTC members and also from potential members outside the Club.
