Kate showed attendees many extraordinary slides of her Asian adventure, including the tragic shrinking of the Aral Sea and its flotilla of abandoned, rusting boats, the hardy lives of the inhabitants of the regions she visited, the many kindnesses she received en route, and the vast and unrelenting topography she passed through. At the end of her journey she trekked up the Chelab Stream to determine the true source of the Oxus (Amu Darya) River, so adding an important piece of knowledge to world geography.
Kate is raising funds for Water.org to help bring safe water and sanitation to the world. If you would like to support her campaign please use the following link: https://donate.water.org/breakingthecycle
Following Kate's presentation members and guests were treated to a spectacular traditional Afghan meal prepared by Lizzie Brown and Frank.
