Royal Melbourne Tennis Club
With strong interest from the UK and USA, along with teams from France, and of course the Netherlands and throughout Australia, it promises to be one of the best yet in its 32 year history.
All real tennis clubs around the world have been invited to select one or more teams to compete in the 2026 Boomerang Cup. Teams of 6 players will provide flexibility (minimum of 5) and we can help find additional players if required. Please note there will be a limit of 30 teams in total, so please confirm your registration now at the link below.
There are many wonderful sporting and social events in Melbourne around the Boomerang Cup, to help make your trip even more memorable:
- The Ashes Cricket Test Series: Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG): 26-30 December 2025 and Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG): 4-8 January 2026
- Australian Open Tennis at Melbourne Park: 12 January - 1 February
- Big Bash Cricket League: MCG 4, 8, 13 January and Marvel Docklands: 10, 15 January (Finals 20–25 January, venues TBC)
- Australian Real Tennis Open: 5 -13 January at The Royal Melbourne Tennis Club
- Many activities available, such as golf, padel and heritage tours
Go on a "grand tour" of Australian Real Tennis by visiting Sydney, Hobart and Ballarat! Tournaments have been designed to lead into the Boomerang Cup.
- Play on the newest real tennis court in the world at Sydney Real Tennis - The Cheltenham Recreation Club
- Hobart Real Tennis Club is hosting The Governor's Cup catering to both elite professional and amateur draws from Fri. 2 ~ Sun 4. January.
- A very short walk from HRTC is the 'Taste of Summer' featuring the best of Tasmanian food and drink from Sat. 27 December ~ Sat. 3 January, as well as watch the 80th Sydney-Hobart Yacht Race arrivals.
- Ballarat Tennis Club is hosting The Lalor Cup from Wed. 7 ~ Fri. 9 January, with great fun, billeting and handicap doubles.
- Also, enjoy a side trip to the Romsey court - roughly between Ballarat and RMTC.
