Richmond Silver Racket - Fri. 4 ~ Sun. 6 July

The Richmond Silver Racket was held as two round robin groups this year, with Eli Kozma, Graeme Blundstone and JWC playing on Friday night in front of a raucous First Friday crowd. Many thanks to Wendy Whitehead and Tim Raw for supplying a sumptuous feast of duck to keep the starving masses content. All matches went to three sets with JWC and Blundstone progressing to the finals on Sunday.

8. August - Richmond Silver Racket Fri Sun 4 6 July

Wednesday, 6th Aug

On Saturday afternoon Chappy, Pat Dunne and Alex Marino-Hume played each other, with Pat and Alex the victors in slightly shorter games than the previous night.

Sunday saw Dunne use the handicap to full effect against JWC to win the first semi final before Blundstone proved too steady for Marino-Hume who looked a little tense while giving away handicap points.

The final was a close affair with Dunne giving Blundstone a 15-0 start in every game and playing well. The first set was a long and see-sawing event which Blundstone eventually managed to win 6/5. He used the momentum from that to go on, making very few errors, and win the second set to take his second Richmond Silver Racket title.
