Finals Day - Women’s Club Championship - Sun. 7 December

Finals Day had a big turnout for the Christmas party and to see all the matches to conclude the Club Championships. All present enjoyed a spectacular feast provided by our chef Liza Turner alongside the entertainment on the courts.

The final of the Women's Club Championship was a familiar competition from the last few years with title holder Jo See Tan being challenged by Emma Clyde. They've played numerous times in recent years as they're both constantly striving to improve.

13. January - Finals Day Womens Club Championship -Sun 7 December

Tuesday, 6th Jan

A good crowd around the galleries was treated to an incredibly tight match which went the full three sets, with both players having good periods. Emma took a lead in all of the sets with Jo See pegging the games back in the back half of the sets. They split the first two 6/5 5/6 to set up a winner take all final set. Again, Emma took an early lead before Jo See made the comeback. At 5/3 ahead it looked like Emma had the match under control before Jo See found her length to apply some pressure again but it was too late, Emma was able to close the match out and win her first Women's Club Championship title 6/5 5/6 6/4.
