International Tennis Day - a day to celebrate real tennis / court tennis / jeu de paume
Since 2014, International Tennis Day has been the annual celebration in our game of tennis — real tennis, court tennis, jeu de paume.
So book some court time, snag a playing buddy, and after your game post a photo on social media using the hashtag #ITENNISDAY (on Instagram, Facebook...). Clubs will be participating across Australia, France, UK and USA.
June 20 was chosen as it falls on the anniversary of the Tennis Court Oath, on 20 June 1789 by nearly 600 people at a tennis court near the Palace of Versailles and a pivotal event at the start of the French Revolution.
